Desc: Remembering Kindertransport: Directed by Dick Jordan. Remembering Kindertransport" tells the story of a Jewish child, Marion Walter, who along with her older sister Ellen, traveled by train from her home in Berlin to the Netherlands where they boarded a ship that sailed them across the English Channel to the port of Harwich during the 1938-1939 British Kindertransport mission which brought thousands of Jewish children to live in England. Marion ultimately moved to the United States where she earned a master's degree in mathematics from New York University in 1954 and later a doctorate in education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In 1977, she accepted a teaching position at University of Oregon where she remained until her retirement in 1994. She passed away in Eugene, Oregon on May 9, 2021, at the age of 92, over eighty years after the Kindertransport saved her from Nazi regime of Adolph Hitler and a fate similar to that of Anne Frank, the Jewish child best known to the world as a victim of the Holocaust.
